Béla Bartók visits Brussels

A statue of Hungarian composer Béla Bartók created by my favourite (living) Hungarian sculptor Imre Varga, stands in a forgotten and dingy square in central Brussels.
Find him around the back of the Place d'Espagne near the Galeries St Hubert.

It's a great statue. But it's hardly a "forgotten and dingy square." It's actually a fairly recent addition, this plaza,in the very center of things, with the train station just above, and hotels all around.

Hi Tom,
I'm sorry I called it 'forgotten and dingy' - I was thinking that compared to the neighbouring, bustling Place D'Espagne in front of the entrance to les galleries royales St Hubert, it seems a little quiet going up those steps... although there is always a multi-lingual Roma lady who chases me across the pavement, so it's quite lively !!

Hi gli scribacchini,
I'm so glad you liked the pics.
Have you checked out my Anderlecht graffiti artist pics - some great artistic talents for the future.
